Complete our interest form and we'll reach out to arrange a conversation.
The best way to get to know JCI is to experience the organization in action.
After our conversation, you'll be invited to activities, workshops, networking events, and other opportunities that match your interests.
You are welcome to attend 2–3 activities free of charge before deciding whether membership is right for you.
(For some larger events participation fees will occure for non-members.)
If you feel JCI is a good fit for you, you can submit your membership application.
We'll help you find the activities, projects, and opportunities that best match your interests and goals.
As a new member, you'll create a Personal Development Plan together with an experienced JCI member.
The plan helps you identify:
Skills you want to develop
Goals you want to achieve
Activities and projects that match your interests
Local, national, and international opportunities that support your growth
We encourage all members to get involved in a project, activity, committee, or initiative where they can learn, contribute, and grow.
In JCI, development happens through action.
JCI is for young adults between the ages of 18 and 40 who want to develop themselves, build meaningful connections, and challenge themselves.
You do not need leadership experience or a specific professional background to become a member. Many people join to develop new skills, meet new people, or gain practical experience through projects and activities.
As a member, you gain access to:
A network of engaged young adults in Norway and around the world
Workshops, training programs, and development opportunities
Practical experience through projects and activities
Leadership and project management experience
International conferences, academies, and exchange opportunities
The chance to develop skills that are valuable both professionally and personally
In JCI, you build experience step by step through active participation.
Being a member of JCI is a journey where you can start small and potentially grow into leading large national or international initiatives. Through our "One Year to Lead" philosophy, members are encouraged to take on new roles and challenges, gaining valuable experience in a relatively short period of time.
Yes. We encourage prospective members to attend 2–3 activities before deciding whether membership is right for them. This gives you the opportunity to meet members, experience the community, and explore the opportunities available through JCI.
That depends on you. Some members attend occasional activities throughout the year, while others become involved in projects, leadership roles, or international events.
JCI offers many opportunities, but the most important thing is that you stay active. Think of it like a gym membership—the more time and effort you invest, the more you gain in personal and professional development.
The first step is to complete our interest form or book an informal conversation with us. From there, you'll be invited to get to know the organization through activities and events before deciding whether to apply for membership.
Membership fees vary between local organizations and are typically between NOK 2,000 and 3,200 per year. You can choose to pay either annually or monthly.
Some local organisations also offer reduced membership fees for first-year members, and additional promotional offers may be available throughout the year.
Unlike many organizations, JCI is a volunteer-led non-profit organization. Membership fees are always reinvested into creating value for members through activities, training, projects, and development opportunities. Depending on available funding and local priorities, JCI organizations may also help support members participating in conferences, academies, training programs, and other national or international events through travel grants, participation subsidies, or financial support.
All new members create a Personal Development Plan together with an experienced JCI member. The plan is based on your goals, interests, and what you hope to gain from your membership. From there, we'll help you identify activities, projects, and opportunities that align with your ambitions and support your personal development journey.
